K.G.R. Metalcraft

It was never the plan, but somehow it found me and I became smitten. Since the tender age of eight, I was formally trained in the visual arts for painting and drawing, and later attended Orange County High School of the Arts to further my passion. During my last semester of my senior year, I took an introductory jewelry class that changed my whole trajectory. It was then that I traded the paint brush for the torch.

I knew that I wanted to dedicate my life to making unique beautiful objects, so I found my way to attending the Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design program at California State University, Long Beach. After earning my BFA, I was graciously taken under the wing of Jim Kovacich, a venerable silversmith who introduced me to the world of metal conservation and restoration. Since 2015, I have worked on a myriad of antiquities, ranging from wearable objects to architectural scale. Ultimately, it is my goal to bring old items new life through patient and accurate restoration and conservation.
